_ Creating a renovated definition of hotel concierges
Overview
DingDone is a Costa-Rican start-up focused on creating digital solutions to hotels all over the country. This was their second complete platform which they would sell to their clients.
My Role
I was in charge of the app’s UX/UI design. This included investigation, analysis and wireframing and re-designing of their previous look and feel.

Skip the lines
The project included a fully digital Check-In process that let users scan their passports and add their payment information so that they could enjoy the hotel without any delay.

The complete experience in your device
The user gets access to all the services and tours the hotel has to offer, they could ask for food, tours and events, giving them the chance to map all their vacations and focus on enjoying their trip.

Better communication, quicker response
The Guest app links itself with the hotel administration app, giving the guests the chance to report issues they spot at the hotel, creating a top priority maintenance ticket.
Defining the Challenge
One of the main challenges for this project was "How do we create a user based platform without a specific hotel and clients?". Adding to that we needed to design a flexible enough UI so that we the hotels would manage the platform themselves.

The User
Even though there was no "one" hotel in mind, there was a hotel type that was defined as the most viable market for this app, Boutique Hotels. This helped define 3 user archetypes which using user interviews helped validate and generate a needs hierarchy.
Their needs
With the data from the users collected, the next step was to create a graph that showed the main needs of the user, to help prioritize the design and focus the final product as a real solution and not an empty app.
Understanding the journey
In the DingDone project, a key focus was on understanding the unique needs of users at different stages of their vacation journey. By carefully considering the user's requirements during pre-trip planning, on-location exploration, and post-trip reflection, we crafted a tailored experience that catered to their needs at each specific state, ensuring a seamless and satisfying vacation experience.
